The Center for Social Justice & Civil Liberties (3855 Market St, Riverside, CA) exhibits a beautiful facade that features the heads of Cortez and Balboa. The building, completed in 1926, was originally built for the Riverside Finance Company, and was purchased in the 1950s to serve as the Citrus Belt Savings and Loan Building. The building was designed by Los Angeles-based architect Stiles O. Clements in a California Churrigueresque revival style (a type of Spanish Baroque). Riverside Community College District purchased the site in 2005 and renovated it into the current Center/Museum which opened in 2012. More information about the building can be found here.
