Animal-themed Fencing on Brockton Ave.

The fencing around a ventilation or access shaft on Brockton Ave. (6800 Brockton Ave, Riverside, CA) has been covered with metal coverings showing elephants, giraffes and other African animals.  The designer is unknown.

Riverside Life Services Mural

The east-facing wall of the Riverside Life Services building (3727 Mccray St, Riverside, CA 92506) has a tasteful floral mural marking the business location.  The mural is best seen from a parking lot off of Brockton Ave.  The artist is unknown

Press Enterprise Article on the Murals and Arts Blog

Recently I had the good fortune of working with the Press Enterprise newspaper reporter Sarah Hofmann and photographer Terry Pierson, who wrote an article about this blog. I met them down by the Magnolia Center and had an enjoyable time talking to them and having photos taken of me with some of the murals I've written about.

Gold Modern Art Sculpture on Arlington Ave.

Between St. Catherine of Alexandria Church and Shamel Park at about 3674 Arlington Ave., Riverside, is an attractive gold-colored modern sculpture.  The artist who designed the sculpture is unknown.    

Brockton Arcade in 1956 Mural

The window adjacent to Box Properties (6730 Magnolia Ave., Riverside) in the Brockton Arcade has been painted with an attractive historic mural depicting the arcade in 1956.  Several of the stores shown in the painting are still present and in operation. It was painted by Christine Curry (@cc_painter) in 2010 and is mentioned in a 2012 article in the Press Enterprise.

The Barber District Mural

 The Barber District has a simple, palm tree-containing mural on the side of their store (6677 Magnolia Ave., Riverside).  The mural is signed by Yonk.  

Fade Junkys Barber Shop on Brockton

Fade Junkys Barber Shop (6701 Brockton Ave., Riverside) has a brightly colored mural for its facade.  The mural is unsigned.  

Historic Brockton Ave. Mural

A mural dedicated to Hank and Hattie Redmond depicting Brockton Ave. during an earlier era can be found on the wall of Renee's Artique facing McNair's Auto Repair (6789 Brockton Ave. Riverside). The lovely mural was painted by Christine Curry (@cc_painter) in 2016.  

Brockton Arcade Murals

The Brockton Arcade has several murals, one on the facade of Riverside Stamp & Coin (6740 Magnolia Ave., Riverside) and three flanking the dumpster.  The murals are all unsigned. Based on an article in the Press Enterprise, the Riverside Stamp and Coin mural may have been painted by Christine Coats, a Redlands-based artist.   

Riverside-themed Murals off of Brockton Ave.

 Two nice Riverside-themed murals can be found on the west wall of a house on 3733 Nelson Ave. (just off of Brockton Ave., Riverside).  They were painted by @DesireeCheri (Instagram tag).
