A large new painting showing compass directions in blue and white has recently been painted on the tarmac of Riverside Municipal Airport (6951 Flight Rd, Riverside, CA). It is best viewed from the air but this is the best that I could do from the ground. The artist is unknown.
An attractive modern metal sculpture is located at the corner of Jurupa Ave. and Van Buren Blvd. (7560 Jurupa Ave, Riverside, CA). After my original post, I have learned that the sculpture is entitled, "Spiral Suspension" and the sculptor was Jon Seeman. It was made in 2010.

On a triangle of land near the Airport Fire Station #5 at 5883 Arlington Ave., Riverside is a red-colored modern sculpture entitled, "Tripod". The sculpture was created in 1976 by James Rosati and was originally located on the downtown pedestrian mall in Riverside. After another of Rosati's sculptures was demolished when the World Trade Center was destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001, Riverside's sculpture was relocated to the fire station and rededicated in 2008 in honor of the men and women of Riverside's fire department who responded to our nation's call to go to New York City and help in the aftermath of the attack As indicated on a plaque that stands at the base of the sculpture, the statue stands "in lasting tribute to their valor and this community's commitment to preserving freedom both here and abroad."

To the side of the Rocket Store at the Union 76 gas station at 6020 Arlington Ave., Riverside is a colorful nature-themed mural. It is unsigned.
There is an impressive mural on the front and side of Adams Elementary School (8362 Colorado Ave., Riverside) that features the school's name and a dragon, the school mascot. It was painted by Murals for Schools led by its artist Tom Seibert @muralsforschools. The photos were updated in May 2025.

The Wind of the Spirit Church (6476 Streeter Ave., Riverside) has a mural which serves as a sign and an introduction. The mural is unsigned.
On the side of Mountain View Elementary School (6180 Streeter Ave., Riverside) is an attractive mural with a fruit crate theme and featuring an image of a mountain (possibly Mt. Roubidoux) and a road runner, the school mascot. It is unsigned but I understand that it was done by Murals for Schools (@muralsforschools) and likely executed by their artist Tom Seibert. A large colorful mural can be seen on the side of the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church (6115 Arlington Ave, Riverside). The mural does not appear to be signed but I haven't seen it up close.
