Located near the center of the UC Riverside campus (900 University Ave, Riverside) between the bell tower and the Highlander Union Building is a prominent sculpture showing UCR in silver block letters with a sunburst within the R. The sunburst is reminiscent of Fiat Lux, Let There be Light, the motto of the University of California. The artist is unidentified.
