An interesting painting by local artist Mark T. Rush is currently on exhibit at the Orange Terrace Branch of the Riverside Public Library (20010 Orange Terrace Pkwy, Riverside).
Monument-style signs announcing that one is entering Riverside can be found along six major roads approaching the city from each major direction. Each has a raincross, the city's symbol. [Photo of the sign on Trautwein updated on June 27, 2024.]
A large attractive mural depicting scenes from Riverside in its earlier days has recently been completed on the west side of the Citizen's Business Bank building (3695 Main St, Riverside, CA) in downtown Riverside. It was painted by local artist Tiffany Brooks @tiffanybrooksstudio who did a remarkable job pushing forward on hot summer days on a less-than-ideal surfaces. The project was part of the Beautify Riverside initiative led by Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson and her advisor Philipe Falcone. I have also posted a short video of the mural on YouTube.

Four paintings by Riverside artist Yolanda Terrell are currently on exhibit at the Orange Terrace Branch of the Riverside Public Library (20010 Orange Terrace Pkwy, Riverside). Her art is described in a 2022 Press Enterprise article as “colorful impressionistic and American modernist with a folk style and a unique palette knife technique.”
On the back side of the shopping center housing a 7-Eleven (8201 Arlington Ave A&B, Riverside, CA) and other stores is an older mural showing several cartoon-type of dinosaurs seeking the source of a musical tune. It is signed Hestand 1996.
Three works of fused glass art and a painting by local artist Judy Davies are currently on exhibit at the Orange Terrace Branch of the Riverside Public Library (20010 Orange Terrace Pkwy, Riverside). More about Judy can be found in a 2015 Press Enterprise article.
On Main Street just north of the Mission Inn, an attractive raincross constructed of woven pieces of metal has been affixed to the wall next to Cold Label Studio (3557 Main St., Riverside, CA). The artist is unknown.
Overlooking the 60/215 freeway (best viewed from across the freeway at about 1360 W Blaine St, Riverside, CA) is a large sign advocating to "Grow where you are planted". The is a line drawing of a house with a sprout at the top. The artist is unidentified.
The stairway and walls leading to the Madd Tatter'z Tattoo Parlor (3688 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA) have several colorful and clever murals combining Madd Hatter and tatoo themes. They appear to be painted by SloE88 (apparently, also known as @sloe_motion on Instagram).
