An attractive fanciful landscape mural has been painted on the north wall of Carniceria Belky on Hole Ave. (10775 Hole Ave, Riverside, CA 92505). The mural depicts an idyllic landscape with a prominent mountain, river with a small waterfall, a country house, grazing cattle and a horse, and a parrot. The mural is signed R. murals with (702) 348-5398. Based on a web search on the phone number, the artist appears to be Ricardo Chicas @ricardochicasalguero.
Two similar murals have been painted on the SoCal Optometry building at the intersection of Hole Ave. and Tyler Street (4000 Tyler St, Riverside, CA 92503). Each mural looks to show a pair of eyeglasses being assembled (or disassembled) from a series of rods, cones, blocks and spheres with a raincross, Riverside's symbol, in the midst. The mural was painted by Riverside teacher and artist Sean Banister @seanbanister.

Part of our tour of the California Air Resources Board's Research facility (4001 Iowa Ave, Riverside, CA 92507) involved seeing the art within the building. Across from the employee entrance on the south side of the building is a painting of aspects of California air made by digitizing air monitoring data. The work was made by Refik Anadol in 2021. More information can be found on the sign below. Unfortunately, it was not updating and changing while we were there. It only showed a single image.

Just inside the main entrance of the California Air Resources Board's Southern Headquarters (4001 Iowa Ave, Riverside, CA 92507) is an air pollution poetic text entitled, "There Are Many Idioms About Breathing And Yet". The poem and work was created by Kameelah Janan Rasheed in 2021. It is accompanied by a video. More information about the work can be found on the sign below.
I was recently able to tour the California Air Resources Board's Research facility (4001 Iowa Ave, Riverside, CA 92507). Next to the employee entrance on the south side of the building is a portrait of Dr. Arie Haagen-Smit, a pioneer in air pollution research and the founding chairman of California Air Resources Board in 1968. As described on a CARB webpage, the portrait is a collection of many photos of the sky forming the image of Dr. Haagen-Smit. The portrait was produced by ZGF Architects specifically for CARB's Southern California Headquarters in Riverside, CA.

A new mural featuring prominent aspects of the history of the Casa Blanca area has been painted at the entrance to the Casa Blanca Elementary School (7351 Lincoln Ave., Riverside, CA) school yard. The orange growing history of the area, the murals on Lincoln Ave., the palm trees, the local KPRO radio station and a Raincross-bearing pavilion are shown. The mural is unsigned but based on an Instagram post, I believe that the mural was painted by local muralist Mano Mirande @_mano_man.
