Upon cutting back the vines, an old mural showing a cartoon animal miner holding a lantern and pick, reminiscent of a fairy tale or children's story, was exposed on the side of a Augie's Coffeehouse building (now closed). The mural is best seen from about 4255 Main St, Riverside, CA and is down the street from the Riverside County Courthouse. It looks like the artist's name was MEND and the mural was painted in 2013.

The electrical box in front of the old City Hall building (3612 Mission Inn Avenue, Riverside, CA) which now houses Tilden-Coil Constructors, and is across the street from the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside, has been wrapped with a vinyl coating with photos, artwork, and a description of the history of the building. It is part of the newly identified Arts and Culture District. The artist and authors are unknown.

Two Easter eggs, made of re-purposed metal containers, have been placed in front of Tio's Tacos restaurant (3948 Mission Inn Avenue, Riverside) in recognition of Easter. Martin Sanchez is the restaurant owner and presumably the artist who made the painting.

The west coast War Dog Memorial is located on the north side of the Heritage Courtyard just outside the entrance of the March Field Air Museum (22550 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA). As described on the March Field Air Museum website, the memorial that symbolizes the bond and sacrifices of human-canine teams in combat. It was sculpted by Tom Schomberg who has also made several other impressive sculptures at the Riverside National Cemetery. The P-38, F4/5 Lightning Memorial for World War II is located on the west side of the Heritage Courtyard just outside the entrance of the March Field Air Museum (22550 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA). The plaque notes that "this fighter aircraft fought and won in all theaters of World War II". The sculptor was Robert Henderson.
The Fifteenth Air Force Commemorative Wall is located on the east side of the Heritage Courtyard just outside the entrance of the March Field Air Museum (22550 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA). As described on March Air Field website, "Dedicated in 1998, the 15th Air Force Commemorative Wall at March Field Air Museum pays tribute to the courageous men and women who served in the 15th Air Force". There is a medallion surrounded by about 20 plaques as well as prominent bust of Lt. General James H. Doolittle sculpted by Don Winton. The artists involved in creating the plaques are not known.

Two notable plaques are located on the east side of the Heritage Courtyard just outside the entrance of the March Field Air Museum (22550 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA). One was placed by the Order of the Daedalions, the National Fraternity of Commissioned Military Pilots, and is dedicated to those who have gone before and who placed nation above self. It has the poem "High Flight" which was one of my father's favorites. The other plaque represents the Strategic Air Command. The artists are unknown.
The National Distinguished Flying Cross Memorial is located in the Heritage Courtyard just outside the entrance of the March Field Air Museum (22550 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA). As described on one of the marble monuments, the memorial is "dedicated to all those heroic aviators who have earned the Distinguished Flying Cross by deeds performed in aerial flight, awarded or not". The artists involved in creating the memorial are unknown.

There are a number of dead denuded trees painted in bright colors at various locations around Riverside. There are a couple on Victoria Avenue, one on Houghton Ave, just off of Market Street, one on Crowell Ave., one on Nixon and one on Jurupa Ave. It is my understanding that they were painted by local artist Frank Heyming and his wife to demonstrate that many things can be art. Here are some examples that I have come across on my bike rides. Someone decorates the one tree on Victoria at Christmas time. Update: Thanks to a comment left below, I was able to find another tree (photo a bottom) across from the entrance to Fairmount Park.

I noticed some Riverside-themed transportation art where Spruce Street crosses the 91 Freeway (1820 Service Ct, Riverside, CA) and on Vine Street (3230 Vine St, Riverside, CA). The raincross, shown in the first two photos, is Riverside's symbol. The artist is unknown. The bell-shaped shadow at the bottom was unintentional and is me taking the photograph.

The new Mariposas restaurant (1690 Spruce St, Riverside, CA) is brightly colored with murals of flying butterflies and butterflies on young women. A Kalaveras restaurant and its murals were previously at this location. The murals were painted by the Los Angeles-based artist Eddie Jelinet @eddiejelinet.
